Skeleton Sea @ the Volvo Ocean Race Village in Cape Town

Skeleton Sea’s new project started in Cape Town South Africa some weeks ago. In the last weeks we worked on creating two new sculptures which had to be  ready for the Volvo Ocean Race Village Opening in Cape Town on the 25th of November 2011. Wally Petersen from the KEAG – Kommitjie Environmental Awareness Group invited us to work on their beach reserve which is a fantastic location to be creative. The mission was to built one Tuna Fish out of old rusty cans and another Flip Flop Fish with discarded Flip Flops from the beach. You might ask why we do similar fishes again? The reason for this is that for the whole Volvo Ocean Race Tour we need every sculpture twice due to logistic reasons – the Volvo 70 sailing boots are simply faster then sea freight ships .. So in every port we will exhibit one  LAST TUNA , one FLIP FLOP FISH  and a ALBATROSS EXHIBITIONIST.
