Material: Rusted tuna cans, steel; Size: 230cm x 120cm
Location: Fuerteventura, Spain
The Red Tuna represents all species of its kind and is hinting at the ever-growing problem of over fishing and pollution in our oceans. All cans where found at Majanicho beach during a beach cleaning at the North Shore of Fuerteventura.
Can one keep the memory of an entire species inside a can? How many meals does it take before extinction? We will be left with empty cans to remind us of a tragedy. Our uncontrolled consumerism will only leave rusty coffins.
