Over the last weekend, we have been getting ready with our Skeleton Sea exhibition in the PALEXCO of A Coruna, Spain, to be part of the Marea Alta Festival – a festival to celebrate the sea with art, science, gastronomy and reflection. Exhibitions, meetings, workshops, sea market and much more. Yesterday was the official exhibition & festival opening! In the evening Joao and Xandi unveiled the secrets of our project with a storytelling called FROM PASSION TO ACTION! THE BORN OF SKELETON SEA at the opening ceremony in the PALEXCO.
SO WHAT IS FESTIVAL MAREA ALTA?
Festival Marea Alta is an artistic, educational and recreational meeting in celebration and preservation of the sea world. From September 16th to 21st 2014 holds its first edition in the city of A Coruña. Festival Marea Alta is an international meeting around sea world that aims to celebrate the importance of the oceans as a source of wealth and essential natural resource. Moreover, it seeks to raise awareness among institutions, businesses and society of the necessity of preserving the marine ecosystem to ensure its sustainability. At Festival Marea Alta various artists and experts will show the latest advancements and creations in exciting fields such as marine photography, ocean preservation, sustainable fishing, gastronomy, etc.
Festival Marea Alta are exhibitions, workshops, screenings, story telling, scientists and industry representatives, discussions, lectures, sea market and gastronomic activities related to the marine medium. Moreover, it is a forum for public participation where the problems of our seas will be introduced.
Today in the afternoon, Joao and Xandi presented several projects linking art, activism and surf as inspiration in order to inspire local artists and surfers at.
